The gap between support and administration is the largest in the whole Microsoft 365 career. And what sits in between is not ten years: it is leaving password resets behind and moving to configuring who accesses what, which devices get in and which data gets out.
In 2026 a new task has been added that small companies cannot do themselves: enabling Copilot and agents without opening the door to everything. Whoever masters it from support reaches the next step sooner.
A warning for anyone starting now in the US: the official projection is that computer support employment will decline 3% by 2035. The support step is narrowing; the administration step is not.
