AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA-C03) validates that you can design solutions on AWS following the Well-Architected Framework: secure access and data protection, resilient and decoupled architectures, the right compute, storage, database and network services for the performance required, and designs that minimise cost. It is the AWS certification most often requested in job postings.

A growing company is moving from one AWS account to a multi-account environment. It wants a landing zone based on AWS best practices, a standard way for teams to provision new accounts with approved configurations, and ongoing governance rules applied to groups of accounts. Which solution will meet these requirements with the LEAST operational overhead?

AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA-C03) checks that you can design solutions on AWS following the Well-Architected Framework. Each question describes a company with requirements (availability, cost, security, latency, operational overhead) and asks for the combination of services that meets all of them.
The outline has four domains: secure architectures (30%), resilient architectures (26%), high-performing architectures (24%) and cost-optimized architectures (20%).
Security: IAM (users, groups, roles, resource policies, STS and cross-account access), AWS Organizations and SCPs, IAM Identity Center, VPCs with subnets, security groups and NACLs, AWS WAF and Shield, KMS, ACM and Secrets Manager. Resilience: SQS, SNS, EventBridge, load balancers, Auto Scaling, multi-AZ and multi-Region deployments, Route 53, backups and disaster recovery.
Performance: EC2, Lambda and containers; S3 and its storage classes, EBS, EFS and FSx; RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB and ElastiCache; CloudFront, Global Accelerator, Kinesis, Glue and Athena. Cost: EC2 purchasing options, storage classes and lifecycle rules, Savings Plans, cross-AZ and cross-Region traffic, and when a managed service pays off.
AWS recommends a year of hands-on experience. With that base, six to eight weeks is usually enough: read the official exam guide, review the Well-Architected Framework and practice with scenarios until you can spot which requirement rules out each option (cost, operational overhead or availability).

CertifyDeck is an independent study platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by AWS. SAA-C03 and its related marks belong to their respective owner.
It lasts 130 minutes and has 65 questions, of which 50 are scored and 15 are not. AWS does not identify the unscored ones.
Scores range from 100 to 1,000 and the minimum passing score is 720. Scoring is compensatory: you do not need to pass each domain separately.
The official fee is USD 150, plus any taxes and currency conversion. CertifyDeck does not sell the exam, only the preparation: you can start for free and full access is a one-off fee.
No. AWS does not require any prior certification, although it recommends at least a year of hands-on experience designing systems on AWS.
