AB-400 (Extending Microsoft Power Platform Solutions with Code and AI) replaces the PL-400 exam from 16 October 2026 and earns the same certification, Power Platform Developer Associate. It measures your ability to design, develop, test and troubleshoot solution components using the extension points of Power Platform and generative AI: Dataverse plug-ins and APIs, PCF components, client scripting, Power Apps code apps, custom connectors, Azure Functions, Power Automate and Copilot Studio workflows, and Microsoft Foundry agents that integrate with the platform. It is a developer exam: it requires programming.

A developer at Fourth Coffee is writing server-side C# code that needs to update the status of an existing case record without retrieving it first. The developer only has the case's GUID and the new statuscode value. Which pattern is most appropriate?

Built for developers who extend Power Platform with code and generative AI: Dataverse plug-ins, PCF components, client scripting, code apps, connectors, Azure Functions, and Microsoft Foundry and Copilot Studio agents. Microsoft expects experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Power Fx, C#, Python, YAML, REST APIs and Azure.
AB-400 (Extending Microsoft Power Platform Solutions with Code and AI) replaces the PL-400 exam from 16 October 2026. It earns the same certification, Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate, and launches in English only. Registration for PL-400 closes on that same 16 October, and anyone already registered can sit it through 30 October 2026.
The outline moves to four domains: build Power Platform solutions (15–20%), extend the user experience (25–30%), extend Power Platform (35–40%) and develop integrations (10–15%). It keeps plug-ins, Dataverse APIs, PCF, client scripting, connectors, events and ALM, and adds Power Apps code apps, Microsoft Foundry agents, MCP servers, Copilot Studio workflows and the Dataverse SDK for Python. The detail is in the [AB-400 skills outline by domain](/articulos/temario-ab-400).
Most of the exam is the core AB-400 shares with PL-400, and for those objectives we reuse the questions from our PL-400 bank, remapped to the new outline. What AB-400 removes (advanced canvas apps, platform configuration) has been left out.
For the new areas we wrote original questions from the official Microsoft Learn documentation, with the reference in every explanation. These are recent products and the exam is not live yet: we will review these questions once Microsoft publishes its learning paths. No question comes from leaked exam content.
Start with a diagnostic test and study by domain, in proportion to weight: extending Power Platform and the user experience add up to about two thirds of the exam. Lock in plug-ins, APIs and PCF first, which still decide the pass, then spend time on the new material by building a code app connected to Dataverse and an agent that uses the Dataverse MCP server.
Microsoft has not yet published learning paths or courses for this exam, so the official study guide is your index. There is a step-by-step plan in [how to prepare for AB-400](/articulos/como-preparar-ab-400) and the background in [PL-400 is becoming AB-400](/articulos/pl-400-cambia-a-ab-400).

It is the exam that replaces it. It earns the same certification (Power Platform Developer Associate), but the outline is reorganized into four domains and adds generative AI, agents, code apps, MCP and Python.
From 16 October 2026; booking is already open on Microsoft Learn. Registration for PL-400 closes that same day, and it can be taken through 30 October 2026.
Yes: besides the core shared with PL-400, there are original questions on the new areas (code apps, agents, MCP servers, managed identity for plug-ins, background operations and the Dataverse SDKs), written from the official documentation. These areas are recent and we will review them once Microsoft publishes its official training.
Yes. You can start free, with no credit card, and review the explanations before deciding whether you need full access.
Nothing guarantees a pass. They help you find gaps, practise the format and measure consistency alongside the documentation and real experience.
Microsoft sets the price per country. USD 165 list price (varies by country; confirm on Pearson VUE when booking). CertifyDeck does not sell the exam, only the preparation: you can start for free and full access is a one-off fee per certification.
Microsoft does not publish an exact number; its exams usually have between 40 and 60 questions. Our timed mock exam mirrors that length and the official domain weights.
You need a scaled score of 700 out of 1000. The scale does not map to a fixed percentage of correct answers, so aim for consistent results above 80% on unseen mock exams before booking.
Not yet: Microsoft currently offers AB-400 in English only. On CertifyDeck you can practice in Spanish or English so you master the terminology before the real exam.
It is a good free starting point, but it is short and repeats the same items. A practice test with hundreds of original Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate questions, timed mock exams and practice by domain tells you where you fail and whether you keep the level under time pressure.
No. Dumps are leaked exam questions: using them breaks Microsoft's exam agreement and can void your certification. Our questions are original, written from the official skills outline, and train you to reason through new scenarios instead of memorizing answers.
