DP-700 (Fabric Data Engineer Associate) validates that you can implement and manage an analytics solution in Microsoft Fabric: configure the workspace, lifecycle and security, orchestrate processes with pipelines, notebooks and Dataflow Gen2, design full and incremental loading patterns, ingest and transform batch and streaming data with PySpark, SQL, KQL and Eventstream, and monitor, troubleshoot and optimise lakehouses, warehouses, eventhouses and Spark. Skills outline in force since 19 October 2026.

Data engineers who build and operate solutions in Microsoft Fabric and are fluent in SQL, PySpark and KQL, including DP-203 holders moving to Fabric.
DP-700 (Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate) checks that you can implement and manage an analytics solution in Microsoft Fabric: ingest and transform batch and streaming data, orchestrate processes, secure the workspace, and monitor and optimise lakehouses, warehouses and eventhouses.
The outline in force since 19 October 2026 has three equally weighted areas (30–35% each): implement and manage an analytics solution, ingest and transform data, and monitor and optimise an analytics solution.
Administration: workspace settings (Spark, domains, OneLake, Apache Airflow), version control, database projects and deployment pipelines, roles and permissions, row-, column- and file-level security, dynamic data masking, sensitivity labels, audit logs and OneLake security, and orchestration with pipelines, notebooks and Dataflow Gen2.
Data: full and incremental loads, dimensional models, choosing a data store, shortcuts and mirroring, transformations with PySpark, SQL and KQL, duplicate and late-arriving data, and streaming with Eventstream, Spark structured streaming, KQL and windowing functions. Operations: monitoring ingestion, transformations and refreshes, alerts, resolving errors in pipelines, dataflows, notebooks, eventhouses and T-SQL, and optimising Delta tables, Spark, warehouses and queries.
If you come from DP-203 or Spark, what is new is the platform: OneLake, lakehouse versus warehouse versus eventhouse, Eventstream and KQL. If you studied with material from before 19 October 2026, review the new objectives (Airflow, database projects, OneLake security, auditing, query acceleration for shortcuts).

The outline is reorganised into three equally weighted areas and adds new objectives: Apache Airflow workspace settings, database projects, OneLake security, Fabric audit logs, mirroring, native tables versus shortcuts in Real-Time Intelligence, and query acceleration for shortcuts. Our bank already follows the new outline.
It lasts 100 minutes and, as with other Microsoft exams, the exact number of questions is not published: usually between 40 and 60, including case studies. Our mock exam uses 50 questions in 100 minutes.
You pass with 700 points out of 1,000.
The fee depends on the country; in the United States it is USD 165. CertifyDeck does not sell the exam, only the preparation: you can start for free and full access is a one-off fee.
DP-203 (Azure Data Engineer) retired on 31 March 2025 and DP-700 is Microsoft's current data engineering certification, centred on Fabric. There are no prerequisites, although you should be fluent in SQL, PySpark and KQL.

Yes. You can start for free with no sign-up or card: DP-700 practice questions with explanations, a free online test by domain and published sample questions with answers. Full access to the whole bank and the timed mock exam is a one-off payment.
Yes. Microsoft offers DP-700 in Spanish as well as English. On CertifyDeck every question, option and explanation is available in both languages, keeping the official English terminology.
It is a good free starting point, but it is short and repeats the same items. A practice test with hundreds of original Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate questions, timed mock exams and practice by domain tells you where you fail and whether you keep the level under time pressure.
