AWS
AWS Certified AI Business Strategist (AIB-C01) validates that you can translate AI capabilities into business outcomes: choosing and prioritizing use cases, deciding whether to build, buy or partner, measuring value with KPIs, baselines and ROI, applying responsible AI and governance, controlling risk and taking initiatives from pilot to enterprise scale. AWS stresses that strategic decision-making takes priority over technical implementation and that the exam does not assess knowledge of its services. The exam has been in beta since 29 September 2026; we follow the beta exam guide, read on 3 November 2026, and will review the bank when the standard version is released.

A multinational company has AI teams in several countries that use different terms for the same AI concepts, which confuses partners and auditors. The chief AI officer wants a common basis for describing AI systems and their governance that is recognized internationally. Which approach BEST meets this requirement?

Product and program managers, sales and business development, line-of-business leaders, consultants, business analysts and marketers who evaluate, champion or scale AI initiatives alongside technical teams. AWS recommends about six months working with teams that adopt AI and a general, business-level awareness of its AI offering; no coding, hands-on AWS experience or other certifications are required.
AWS Certified AI Business Strategist (AIB-C01) is the AWS certification for business professionals who evaluate, champion or scale AI initiatives in their organization or for their clients, working alongside technical teams without building the solutions themselves. It validates that you can translate AI capabilities into business outcomes, establish responsible AI practices and drive AI adoption at scale. AWS is explicit: the exam prioritizes strategic decision-making over technical implementation and does not assess knowledge of AWS services. It has been in beta since 29 September 2026.
We follow the beta outline of the official exam guide, which has four domains: AI fundamentals and literacy (24%), AI strategy and business value creation (28%), AI governance and responsible AI leadership (24%), and business readiness, leadership and AI transformation (24%). We will review the bank when AWS releases the standard version of the exam.
Fundamentals and strategy: telling AI, machine learning and generative AI apart, structured and unstructured data and why data quality matters; when rule-based automation is enough and when AI is needed; what AI agents add; prompts, token limits and context windows, RAG and fine-tuning at a business level; and classifying AI tools (approved, blocked, under evaluation) to curb shadow AI. Strategy carries the most weight: high-impact use cases, build-buy-partner decisions, prioritizing, pausing or terminating initiatives, knowing when AI is not the answer, tangible and intangible KPIs, baselines, ROI calculation, leading indicators, cost controls and competitive advantage.
Governance and transformation: responsible AI principles (fairness, explainability, privacy, safety, transparency, robustness) and their tradeoffs, governance by design, human oversight and safeguards against hallucinations, governance structures with clear accountability, regulatory compliance, risk classification, bias across the AI lifecycle, harmful content and intellectual property. Then the organization: assessing readiness and maturity, data and infrastructure foundations, executive sponsorship, cross-functional teams, workforce communication, cultural barriers, AI literacy programs, centers of excellence and moving from pilot to production in phases.
AWS recommends about six months working with teams that adopt AI and a general, business-level awareness of its AI offering (Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker AI, Amazon Quick, the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework, the Well-Architected Responsible AI Lens and the cost tools), with no hands-on experience. With that background, four to six weeks are usually enough: read the official exam guide, follow the AWS Skill Builder exam prep plan with the Official Practice Question Set, and practice business decisions on concrete scenarios, especially ROI, KPIs and governance.

The beta has 85 multiple choice and multiple response questions in 170 minutes. The official guide sets 130 minutes for the standard version; AWS has not yet published its question count. AWS beta exams contain more total and more scored questions than the standard version. Our mock exam uses 65 questions in 130 minutes.
700 on a scale of 100 to 1,000. Scoring is compensatory: you do not need to pass each domain, only the exam as a whole. Unanswered questions count as incorrect and there is no penalty for guessing. As with every AWS exam, beta results are available within 5 business days.
USD 50 during the beta; the standard price is USD 100. AWS notes that local-currency prices depend on exchange rates and that taxes may apply. CertifyDeck does not sell the exam, only the preparation: you can start free and full access is a one-time payment.
The beta is offered in English and Japanese, and AWS says more languages will be added at general availability. On CertifyDeck every question and explanation is available in English and Spanish.
None: no coding, no hands-on AWS experience and no other certifications are required. AWS recommends about six months working with or alongside teams adopting AI and a general, business-level awareness of what its AI services offer.
Three years, including when you earn it on the beta. If you earn it by 15 February 2027, you also receive an Early Adopter digital badge.
The beta validates the questions before the standard version, costs less and can be taken only once: if you fail, you must wait for the standard version to retake it. AWS does not publish when it ends; its policy says betas generally run for 1 to 3 months. The outline may be adjusted for the standard version: our bank follows the beta exam guide, read on 3 November 2026, and we will review it then.
