Data analysts and business profiles who build reports with Power BI Desktop, know Power Query and DAX and work with stakeholders to turn requirements into models and visuals.
To prepare for PL-300 you need to cover the full lifecycle of a Power BI project: get and transform data, model it, write measures, design reports and manage the published solution. Practicing visualizations alone leaves out most of the decisions that appear on the exam.
Combine exercises in Power BI Desktop with practice tests by domain. Every mistake should become a concrete action: reproduce the scenario, read the documentation or write an equivalent measure. That way you learn the reasoning, not just the name of a function.
Power Query, data quality, relationships, star schemas, DAX, filter context, model performance, accessible design and row-level security form the essential base. You also need to know publishing, workspaces, refresh and content distribution.
The difficulty of PL-300 usually concentrates in DAX and modeling. Before moving on, make sure you can explain how a measure changes with context and why a relationship or a date table changes the result.
If you use Power BI regularly, four to six weeks can be enough to organize your knowledge and fill gaps. If you are just starting, reserve eight or more and build a complete project with imperfect data, a model, measures and publishing.
Finish your preparation with timed mock exams and review weak domains between attempts. Avoid repeating the same test immediately: leave time to study the cause of the error and then check whether you can solve a different scenario.

CertifyDeck is an independent study platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Microsoft. PL-300 and its related marks belong to their respective owner.
It is accessible, but it requires real practice with Power Query, modeling and DAX. Building several complete reports reduces the difficulty a lot.
A regular Power BI user may need four to six weeks. From scratch, eight weeks or more is reasonable.
Yes. You can start for free and check the question format and the explanations.
Both appear, but DAX and modeling usually require more reasoning. A correct visual depends on the model and the measures being correct too.
There is no formal experience requirement, although having built Power BI solutions makes the exam scenarios much easier to read.
Microsoft sets the price per country. USD 165 list price (varies by country; confirm on Pearson VUE when booking). CertifyDeck does not sell the exam, only the preparation: you can start for free and full access is a one-off fee per certification.
Microsoft does not publish an exact number; its exams usually have between 40 and 60 questions and PL-300 gives you 100 minutes. Our timed mock exam mirrors that length and the official domain weights.
You need a scaled score of 700 out of 1000. The scale does not map to a fixed percentage of correct answers, so aim for consistent results above 80% on unseen mock exams before booking.
Yes. Microsoft offers PL-300 in Spanish as well as English. On CertifyDeck every question, option and explanation is available in both languages, keeping the official English terminology.
It is a good free starting point, but it is short and repeats the same items. A practice test with hundreds of original Power BI Data Analyst questions, timed mock exams and practice by domain tells you where you fail and whether you keep the level under time pressure.
No. Dumps are leaked exam questions: using them breaks Microsoft's exam agreement and can void your certification. Our questions are original, written from the official skills outline, and train you to reason through new scenarios instead of memorizing answers.
