AB-620 questions do not ask for definitions: they describe a Copilot Studio scenario and make you pick the right integration, component or method among options that all sound reasonable. Here are five real questions from the CertifyDeck bank, with the answer and explanation, spread across the three official domains, and what each one teaches about how the exam asks.
Plan and configure (30–35%): approvals and cards
Question 1. An expense agent can prepare a reimbursement, but payments above EUR 5,000 require a finance manager to approve before the transfer action runs. What should you add to the agent flow? Options: a human approval step before the transfer action; a longer generative answer; a second knowledge source; an anonymous authentication mode. Answer: the human approval step. A human-in-the-loop flow introduces an explicit authorization checkpoint before a consequential action; knowledge and response formatting do not authorize anything.
Question 2. A support agent must present three structured incident fields and let the user confirm or correct them before creating a ticket. Which response component is most appropriate? Answer: an adaptive card with input controls and a submit action, because it provides structured presentation, inputs and actions inside the conversation. Notice the pattern: both questions describe a business requirement (control, confirmation) and the exam expects you to translate it into the Copilot Studio component that solves it.
Integrate and extend (40–45%): MCP and A2A
Question 3. Contoso adds an MCP server to a Copilot Studio agent. The server exposes a ProductCatalog resource, but the agent cannot use it while the server tools work. What should the server owner do? Answer: configure ProductCatalog as the output of an MCP tool. Copilot Studio only consumes MCP resources when the server exposes them as a tool output; turning it into a trigger, enabling every tool or moving it to Dataverse does not solve the problem.
Question 4. An external specialized agent supports the open Agent2Agent protocol and must maintain multi-turn collaboration with a Copilot Studio agent. Which integration should you use? Answer: an A2A connection, the agent-to-agent protocol that supports multi-turn interactions. This is the heaviest domain and the one with the most new vocabulary: MCP for tools and resources, A2A for external agents, connectors and REST for systems, Foundry and Fabric for specialized agents. The exam asks you to tell them apart by the requirement, not by the name.
Test and manage (20–25%): evaluation methods
Question 5. A policy agent must include the exact identifier HR-LEAVE-30. The test must fail when it is absent even if the answer is semantically similar. Which evaluation method should you use? Options: text match; similarity; general quality; availability monitoring. Answer: text match, which validates required exact or partial text; similarity is for equivalent wording and general quality for an overall judgment.
It is a good example of how the exam hides the answer in one word of the stem ("exact"). This domain also covers test sets, reading results, solutions, environment variables and Power Platform pipelines. It weighs less, but its questions are more direct and tend to be safe points if you have ever deployed an agent across environments.
What the five questions have in common
All of them describe a concrete requirement (approval, confirmation, unavailable resource, multi-turn, exact text) and offer one correct option plus three distractors that really exist in the product but solve something else. The technique is always the same: underline the word in the stem that fixes the requirement and discard each option by asking which problem it solves.
Five questions teach the format, not your level. The AB-620 practice test has hundreds more with the same structure and explanation, an online test by domain to see where you fail and a timed 120-minute mock exam. If you want a plan, read how to pass AB-620 in six weeks.
Frequently asked questions
How many questions does the AB-620 exam have?
Microsoft does not publish the exact number; its exams usually have between 40 and 60 questions, and AB-620 gives you 120 minutes.
What question types are on AB-620?
Single answer, multiple choice, multi-question scenarios and interactive items such as ordering steps or drag and drop. Most describe a Copilot Studio situation and ask for a decision.
Are these real exam questions?
No. They are original questions written from the public outline. Dumps with leaked questions violate Microsoft's exam agreement and can void the certification.
Where can I find more free AB-620 questions?
On the AB-620 page you can start for free, no sign-up, with questions by domain and explanations, and the five in this article are published with their answers.
