AB-330 replaces MB-330: new Supply Chain Management AI certification in beta

On 16 October 2026 Microsoft announced the Microsoft Certified: Supply Chain Management AI Consultant Associate certification, earned by passing Exam AB-330: Implementing AI-Powered Supply Chain Operations with Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, already available in beta. The same announcement sets the handover: MB-330 and the Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant Associate certification retire on 1 February 2027. If you work with Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, you have three months to decide which of the two exams suits you.

1

What AB-330 is and who it is for

AB-330 targets supply chain consultants and functional professionals with hands-on experience implementing and managing end-to-end processes in Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management and its AI-enabled capabilities. Your job is to translate customer requirements into configurations aligned with the business process catalog for Dynamics 365 apps and services.

The announcement and the [certification page](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/certifications/supply-chain-management-ai-consultant-associate/) ask for four abilities: analyzing business requirements across several areas, mapping them to system capabilities with reliable and scalable solutions, identifying and managing dependencies between processes, and applying industry-recommended practices. The level is intermediate and the official pages list no prerequisites. You will work with solution architects, developers, other consultants, business users and project managers.

Dates, discount and format

The first 300 candidates who take the exam by 15 November 2026 pay 80% less by entering ScoreAB330 when prompted for payment during registration. Seats are first come, first served, and you must sit the exam, not just book it, by that date. If you use that code you also get a 25% voucher for your next exam, about two weeks after AB-330 goes live. If you miss a seat, you can still take the beta at full price.

The exam lasts 100 minutes, is proctored and requires 700 or higher. It is English only for now; exams that get translated receive localization about eight weeks after the English version, and if it is not available in your language you can request 30 extra minutes. The page says the price depends on the country or region and gives no figure.

In a beta you do not get your score when you finish: it arrives about 10 days after the exam goes live, which is planned for January 2027. If you fail, you cannot retake it until then. Candidates in China, India, Pakistan and Türkiye cannot take beta exams.

What changes compared with MB-330

The most visible change is the structure. The [MB-330 study guide](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/certifications/resources/study-guides/mb-330) is organized by product module; the [AB-330 one](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/certifications/resources/study-guides/ab-330) by end-to-end processes, from purchasing to cash collection. Many tasks carry over almost unchanged: wave, load and work templates, location directives, quality orders, purchase agreements and vendor collaboration.

Look at what comes in and what goes out. AB-330 adds production (formulas, subcontracting, the production floor execution interface), forecast models and unified pricing management. In exchange, asset management, landed cost and the transportation management block, with its freight bills and route plans, drop off the list. Product also loses weight: product information management is the largest domain in MB-330, while design to retire stays at 5-10% in AB-330.

Do not judge by the length of the list. Plan to produce has the most bullets and weighs 1-5%; source to pay has few and weighs 30-35%. Purchasing, warehouse and inventory, and sales add up to between 70% and 85% of the exam.

The surprise, given the name, is AI: the skills list does not mention Copilot or agents in any bullet. AI appears in the title and in the audience profile, as AI-enabled capabilities. Since the guide warns that the bullets are illustrative and related topics may be covered, you should know the product's AI features, but the bulk of your study is functional configuration.

What to do if you were preparing MB-330

If you have nearly finished the MB-330 outline, sit it before 1 February 2027. You skip the beta wait for a score, you have material available (including the Practice Assessment on AI Skills Navigator), and the certification stays active on your transcript until it expires, then moves to the historical section. Keep in mind that a retired certification is no longer in Microsoft's offering, so you will want to move to AB-330 later on.

If you are starting now, go straight to AB-330: it is the credential that stays. If you have real experience with the product, the 80% discount is worth it, but Microsoft itself reserves betas for people who already know the technology: the page offers no training of its own yet, and the Practice Assessment usually arrives within eight weeks of general availability. Without that experience, wait until January and spend the time in a test environment, starting with source to pay.

CertifyDeck has no AB-330 questions yet. For the AI side, the AB-730 questions cover generative AI, prompts and Microsoft 365 Copilot, and you can start free; they do not replace configuration practice in Dynamics 365, which is what AB-330 mainly measures.

Frequently asked questions

When can I take AB-330?

Now, in beta. The 80% discount runs until 15 November 2026 and general availability is planned for January 2027.

How long can I still take MB-330?

Microsoft's announcement of 16 October 2026 sets the retirement of MB-330 and its certification for 1 February 2027. As of 30 October 2026, the MB-330 page and the official retirement page do not show that notice yet, and scheduling is still open.

How much does AB-330 cost?

The official page says the price depends on the country or region where you sit the exam and gives no figure. During the beta, the first 300 candidates get 80% off with ScoreAB330, except in Turkey, Pakistan, India and China.

What languages is AB-330 available in?

English only, according to the official page. MB-330 is in English and Japanese. If the exam is not available in your language, you can request 30 extra minutes.

Is it the same certification as MB-330?

No. It is a new certification, with a different name and a different outline. None of the official pages describes an automatic conversion from the MB-330 certification.

What happens to my MB-330 certification if I already hold it?

According to Microsoft's retirement page, a certification earned or renewed before retirement stays in the active section of your transcript until it expires, and then moves to the historical section.

What score do I need on AB-330?

700 or higher, in 100 minutes. In the beta your score arrives about 10 days after the exam goes live; the beta exams page warns the wait can reach 14 weeks depending on when you sit it.

Does CertifyDeck have AB-330 questions?

Not yet. The closest are the AB-730 questions, useful for the AI and Copilot basics, but they do not cover Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management configuration. You can start free.
